Pastor Norman Jenkins has been a member of the Church of God in Christ since birth. He was ordained as an Elder in 1986, and was appointed as the Pastor of Faith Temple Christian Center in 1993 by the late Melton L. Scoiners. Pastor Jenkins has served as the District Sunday School Superintendent for East Coast District, Church of God in Christ, and currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent and Finance Chairman. Pastor Jenkins has a very progressive approach to pasturing, while maintaining and teaching the fundamentals principles of serving Christ. Pastor Jenkins has a very special auxiliary he started at Faith Temple Christian Center called, Young Adults Making a Change. This auxiliary is dear to him, because it was started to help young adult bridge the gap between being a youth in the church and becoming a self sufficient adult in the church. In 2005, Pastor wrote and presented to his membership a workshop entitled, “Going Through my Spiritual Financial Hardship.” This workshop has been an extremely great blessing to both those that have attended the workshop and the church in general. This workshop also was the foundation for the ministry, Developing the Family, which was incorporated in 2009. The Developing the Family, Inc. focuses on providing workshops, training sessions, community activities, worship services, and an Annual Conference, with the intent to making our families better. The motto of Developing the Family is “Improving our Community, one Family at a time. Pastor Jenkins has also founded the organization, Right Attitude. Right Attitude is a for profit organization designed to be a financial support to the ministry.
Pastor Jenkins worked for the Florida Department of Corrections from October 1986, where he started as a Personnel Technician, until August 2012 where he retired as a Warden. He currently works as the Facility Director for The Broward County Bridge, a Private Work Release Center.
Pastor Jenkins has been married to Lousinder E. Jenkins (Rodoson) since May 1976. They have three adult children and four grandchildren.
